[Kdrama] ‘The Legendary Witch’ ep 18 ~recap/review/opinion~

Aeng Ran comes to pick up Do Hyun’s mother however before leaving Bok Nyeo sees the two and she starts asking Soo In’s mother-in-law IF she remembers her. Although she constantly asks, Aeng Ran tries to interfere but the woman does start to remember the fire but apparently she many had a shock from the past and as remembering the incident, she starts screaming. Mr Tak takes the woman away and curious about what Bok Nyeo may have, Aeng Ran asks what’s under the three but the older woman refuses to answer. Before leaving Aeng Ran starts scolding Mi Oh for going near Do Jin but Bok Nyeo gets angry and shouts back that she shouldn’t dare to say something to her daughter.

Aeng Ran asks Soo In to inform her if Do Jin goes near Mi Oh because if the in-law find out they may get angry over the situation. Soo In finds from Bok Nyeo that under the three, there were some documents her husband left for her and also evidence to prove her innocence.

At home, Joo Ran is angry that Do Jin took her mother to Soo In’s truck; Aeng Ran half joking asks Joo Ran if she isn’t grateful now that Woo Seok is staying away from Joo Hee since she didn’t like him as a possible husband for her sister, however Joo Ran sees it as if Joo Hee is inferior to Soo In. Joo Ran’s mother wakes up and mistakes her daughter as Jin Woo’s mother. The woman says that she doesn’t know anything however she apologizes to “Jin Woo’s mother” for her husband’s sins.

Joo Hee goes to tell Woo Seok that she saw Soo In at Byeol’s kindergarten and asks for clarifications, to her surprise Woo Seok says that he asked Soo In to go there so that she and his daughter can get closer to one another. Infuriated, Joo Hee asks why he did that when he said that there is nothing between him and Soo In (I personally don’t remember him saying that lol)

Woo Seok: I don’t know how she feels about me but I have special feelings for her.

She tells him that what he feels is just sympathy however Woo Seok lines out everything he likes about Soo In asking Joo Hee to stop the conversation over this topic because he is afraid that their friendship will end there. Out of the blue Joo Hee tells him that she doesn’t want to make the same mistake a second time getting Woo Seok’s attention after saying that. Even so, Woo Seok advices Joo Hee to find another man because he already decided to tell his feelings to Soo In, the woman is persistent and tries one more time to tell him that as time will pass he will also learn that what he feels for Soo In is just sympathy and will eventually turn his head towards her. (seriously woman, cut it out already – she is definitely a new cherry for Kdrama land)

Soo In overcooks the bread after being too absorbed remembering the time Woo Seok got upset after she said that people around them are misunderstanding regarding their affair.

Bok Nyeo and Nr 911 sting each other after Bok Nyeo tells the other that she should stay away from her house (actually Yi Moon’s house). Later Poong Geum and Nr 911 go to the bank for some “consulting”.

Back at the Ma house, Aeng Ran tells Tae San what happened in the afternoon and that Do Hyun’s mother remembers something about “some” fire. (Here Aeng Ran acts somehow ignorant as if she doesn’t know what’s about).

Bo Kyung comes to show Do Jin the engagement picture but she isn’t in the mood. On the other hand Aeng Ran is scared about how he may react when he will find out that his baby is alive. Upstairs in Do Jin’s room, Bo Kyung tries to make him look at the picture, but he breaks it apart and in the end leaves the room. Bo Kyung smells that something is happening and asks Aeng Ran is they are hiding something from her.

Joo Ran sees her younger sister coming home drunk – later she also sees her crying and asks what happened. Joo Hee decides to tell her sister what’s in her heart and that Woo Seok made up his mind to confess to Soo In. Everything is angering Joo Ran and tells her sister that she will take care of it.

Meanwhile at the truck, seeing Soo In looking at her phone, Mi Oh asks if she is disappointed that Woo Seok may not come (to take his regular 8PM sandwich). Soo In tries to act like she doesn’t care however she reacts fast the moment a man with a similar voice to Woo Seok’s asks for an order.

Bok Nyeo is surprised to see Woo Seok home early and asks why he didn’t went by the truck store, and he answers as he sighs that even if he goes no one will be happy to see him there. (implying that Soo In doesn’t care if he goes or not).

On their way back, Mi Oh asks Soo In if she had a fight with Woo Seok. Arrived at home Bok Nyeo asks the same but Soo In tells them that he doesn’t have to since he may be busy at the company, yet Bok Nyeo and Mi Oh say the same thing: that he always used to go to see her not matter of the weather (so it’s weird that he didn’t even for a day).

At home, Soo In tires to have a normal conversation with Woo Seo but he kinda acts bratty around her. She continues to bother him asking if he got to eat dinner since he didn’t go at the truck store. Woo Seok stops a little from his bratty acting and asks her if she waited for him to go there, however when Soo In tells him that she didn’t specially wait for him, he goes back to the bratty attitude saying that he won’t got there for a while.

Woo Seok: She could’ve said that she waited for me even if it wasn’t true.

Yi Moon tells Soo In that he has to attend a wedding and starts making all kind of faces for Bok Nyeo – later he waits for her in the car, the two were having a date without the others knowing.

Byeol appears with her father to eat breakfast, however he still seems upset with Soo In and makes Byeol ask Soo In questions in his place. (he is like: “Byeol asks her blab la” but in front of Soo In). Byeol gets irritated with the two acting like that so she tells Woo Seok to ask himself Soo In and leave her alone. When Mi Oh appears, Woo Seok pretty much praises her for ……… being young compared to Soo In.

In the morning there is good news for the new premium product that Woo Seok made and everyone praises him, however Joo Ran’s husband doesn’t seem happy. Later Tae San goes with his cheering squad to congratulate Woo Seok.

Joo Ran goes to meet two fishy dudes and tells them to “take care” of Soo In’s truck.

Bo Kyung somehow finds out Mi Oh’s number and calls to set up a meeting. But she makes Mi Oh come at a meeting with her and Aeng Ra saying that she wants to find something. Aeng Ran is shocked to see that Bo Kyung knows about the boy. Bo Kyung shocks the other two saying that she wants Kang Daeng to raise him as her own child. Mi Oh shouts at her that she shouldn’t dare to put a finger on her son.

Nr 911 and Poong Geum visit Soo In and after eating one of the sandwiches, the older woman says that she will open a bakery for Soo In.

Bok Nyeo and Yi Moon enjoy their date.

Joo Hee asks Tae San to give Soo In a franchise from the Shinhwa company to make her stay away from Woo Seok and the father agrees to the plan.

Bok Nyeo sees Woo Seok making Christmas cake and after looking around she sees two cakes on the table and tells him that he should take one to Soo In as well since she really likes cakes. Woo Seok looks stunned at Bok Nyeo but she says that at her age she knows some things even if others don’t speak about it. Then Woo Seok tells Bok Nyeo to keep it a secret from Soo In for a while but she advices him to express his feelings (to propose) to Soo In with the cake. He looks at the cake and decides to write on it “I feel in love with you”.

Later he goes to deliver the cake however Soo In was talking with the customers from a past episode that asked her to date one of their colleagues. Woo Seok gets angry and starts fighting them and the cake gets destroyed.

After the fight he returns home alone, on the other hand Soo In finds the cake but the writing o it was destroyed and she couldn’t read the message.

At night, the two men hired by Joo Ran do their job and steal Soo In’s truck. Next morning Soo In can’t find her truck and goes to the police station. Because she didn’t had an insurance, Soo In goes to meet up with the man that asked her for a date a night before to help her get insurance for her truck since he works at an insurance agency. Woo Seok sees them and thinks that Soo In went on a date with the man. Irritated he drags Soo In out asking her if she is an easy woman for meeting whoever there is and ends up putting it out that he is in love with her.
