[Kdrama] ‘The Legendary Witch’ ep 14 ~recap/review/opinion~

Sometimes I wonder if Aeng Ran is the good or the bad one of this show. It’s true that she suffered a lot as part of the Ma family, especially since she was treated as the mistress and I do understand why she wants to keep Mi Oh and Do Jin apart, however, Aeng Ran is making her son stay as a mama’s boy without any chances to change himself for the better. How does she expect him to fight the other Ma members (for the company) when Do Jin is scared to do anything without her “advice” beforehand.

Woo Seok goes to give Soo In flowers for her ‘grand opening’ however Joo Hee sees the two together. She doesn’t do anything, yet, meanwhile Soo In serves Woo Seo with one of her sandwiches. The teacher congratulates Soo In for the taste of the sandwich more than that he tells her that consumers will like it especially since she is also beautiful.

On the other hand, Joo Hee goes to pay a visit to Yi Moon. Thinking that she came to visit Woo Seok, Yi Moon goes to calls to inform him about her visit. While Yi Moon was out, Joo Hee sees a picture with Soo In and everyone else, but most importantly Woo Seok was also in the picture. Bok Nyeo tells Joo Hee that they all live in the same house and out of shock, Joo Hee leaves without waiting for Woo Seok to come home.

Aeng Ran is still depressed. To make fun of her, Joo Ran goes to pester a little but Tae San returns from work and gets confused after seeing his wife acting depressed; he apologizes for screaming at her a night before. Joo Ran still doesn’t know the situation with Do Jin. Minutes later Joo Hee comes back and Joo Ran sees her having a weird/annoyed face. Angered after seeing Soo In and Woo Seok together, Joo Hee goes to her room where remembers the scene from the afternoon.

Soo In receives a heater from Woo Seok. Although Soo In is a little shy to receive it, Woo Seok tells her that the heater wasn’t for free, it’s more like a pre-pay for the food he will buy from her ‘shop’ since he will have work overtime for a while therefore he can’t make it to dinner (at home).

Arrived at home, Yi Moon tells Woo Seok that Joo Hee found out about Soo In living with them.

Mi Oh has a small accident with one of her customers and Do Hee who was present at the scene jumps to take her side. After the scene, Do Jin waits for Mi Oh to get off of work to ask for a ‘thank you’, yet to his surprise she tells him that no one asked for his help. Of course, her words anger Do Jin who brings up, again, the money she took for aborting their baby, calling her a gold digger. Mi Oh shouts back saying that she is indeed a gold digger therefore he should stay away from her, but Do Jin tells her that the coffee shop she works at it’s his regular shop so Mi Oh is the one who follows him around.

Poong Geum and ‘Do Jin’ have a small date that ends up with a fight after he tries to give her some money. Back at the share house, one of the people living there tells them that the next day everyone will make a protest against the owner who wants to enlarge the rent.

Bok Nyeo waits for Soo In to come back home and Woo Seok appears. To mask himself, Woo Seok tells her that he wanted some fresh air (but it was clearly that he was waiting for Soo In to come back home). As they were waiting for Soo In, Woo Seok tells Bok Nyeo that he is jealous of Soo In who has a ‘mother’ to wait for her return. Later, Soo In comes back and Woo Seok acts like he wants to go to jog, yet he ends up helping her with the stuff from the truck.

Still sad after seeing Soo In and Woo Seok together (and happy), Joo Hee goes to sleep with her mother. The mother tells her that she shouldn’t worry because as they get older men will always come back to them.

‘Do Jin’ calls Poong Geum to see if she is still angry at him.

Bok Nyeo tells Mi Oh that she informed Tae San about the child. Although she tries to make Mi Oh tell Do Jin the truth about the child, the girl still refuses.

During breakfast, Tae San tells Do Jin that after a month from the engagement, he will have to marry Bo Kyung. Everyone sees Joo Hee act strange and they think that her anger is because Do Jin is marrying before her since he is the youngest among them.

Later at work Joo Hee meets up with Woo Seok and in front of him, she tries to act like everything is fine. On the other hand, Soo In is having a good time with her new ‘store’.

Aeng Ran goes to Yi Moon’s laundry shop where she sees Mi Oh’son and asks Bok Nyeo to have a private talk with her. Aeng Ran asks for explanations from Bok Nyeo for telling Tae San about the child, however she has a slip of tongue and tells the elder woman that she should first take care of her own son before carrying about others (Mi Oh). Luckily for her, Aeng Ran changes fast the subject and Bok Nyeo doesn’t find out that her son is actually living.

A lot of people complain about Soo In’s truck and in the end she receives a parking fee for illegal parking.

Do Jin bothers Mi Oh again but she tries to treat him like a normal customer. Before he gets to enjoy his time at the coffee shop, Aeng Ran appears and asks to have a talk with Mi Oh. The woman takes Mi Oh in her car without Do Jin and tells the girl to find a new job where Do Jin can’t find her. Do Jin asks his mother to let Mi Oh alone because he is at fault for loitering around her. Before parting ways, Bo Kyung appears and although she acts ignorant, the girl kinda understands the situation.

Woo Seok calls Soo In to tell her to prepare his food by 8 PM. Shortly after, he receives a phone call from Tae San asking to eat dinner together. Actually Tae San asked for both Joo Hee and Woo Seok to eat with him; Tae San starts talking about how Woo Seok got his attention even since he was little, but the conversation was going towards him saying that he agrees with his daughter marrying Woo Seok.

After dinner, Woo Seok once again rejects Joo Hee’s proposal of starting over and tells her that he has to meet someone at 8 PM.

Unfortunately Soo In parks her truck in front of Joo Ran’s store. The moment Joo Ran sees her, she starts getting angry and even throws bread at Soo In as pay off for throwing bread at the factory (in a past episode) at Tae San. But Woo Seok appears and saves Soo In, thing that annoys Joo Ran. After Joo Ran leaves, Woo Seok asks Soo In why she didn’t fight back and she answers that he was the one who told her not to hurt people with bread.

Back at home, Joo Ran babbles about how Woo Seok saved Soo In and hearing all that Joo Hee gets even sadder especially after the older sister said that the relationship between the two didn’t seem like a normal one.

At the share house, Poong Gum talks over the phone with ‘Do Jin’ however both were in the same room without noticing each other. Just after the people from the room started talking, they see each other. The two end up fighting for lying to one another.

Meanwhile, Mi Oh visits Soo In and the moment she sees her older ‘sister’, the girl starts crying. As she cries, Mi Oh tells about the fact that Do Jin is engaged and will soon marry. Soo In offers to talk with Do Jin to tell him the truth, but Mi Oh refuses saying that he will always listen to his mother. A few minutes later, Poong Geum appears and she starts crying as well, because ‘Do Jin’ lied to her.

Bok Nyeo also comes and Soo In gives them some of her sandwiches. Because everyone started to get better, Mi Oh and Poong Geum ask Soo In to let them work with her at the truck food. Although everyone was happy, 2 drunk men appear and the women start fighting with them.
