Those who are regularly visiting my blog (it there are any) will know that I’m –somehow- into family dramas also known as 50+ dramas or “dayum when will this drama end?” Honestly I’m not even 100% sure why I like watching these kinds of dramas, I mean they are pretty long and time consuming, but I suppose I enjoy them because the characters are given a lot of time to develop, also around the main couple, the other characters have their own stories into the shows without being just filling characters.
Also compared with most Korean dramas, family dramas show the main couple before starting their relationship, during their relationship and marriage life likewise the members of their families.
Before reading the post, just a small reminder, please don’t let the large number of episodes of each drama affect your decision in a negative way, I promise these dramas are good.
First drama I want to recommend is actually the first family drama I saw which opened my desire to watch family dramas, is “Smile, You”.

Because the rich family lost everything, Kang Man Bok, their long time chauffeur, tells the Seo family to move into his house.
Although, the Seo family accepts to move into the Kang family’s house, they have to adjust living as middle class people – thing that may seem kind of difficult at first since the Seo family members were used to spend, spend and spend money.
During their stay into the house of the Kang family, both families have to overcome difficult times, also between Jung In and Hyun Su love blooms, but can their love be fulfilled since the older members of both families hate each other?
Since the older members hate each other, they give a lot of flavor to “Smile, You” making it into a lovely family drama with lots of funny and sad moments, please do watch it.

How will the families of the two males react when they will find out about their relationship? Will their relationship last? Watch it to find out what will happen because I AIN’T TELLIN’! !
During its airing, this drama faced a lot of problems because of the mothers in Korea (I think it was a mothers association) who thought that their boys will turn gay if they were to watch the drama….
“If my son becomes gay and dies from AIDs after watching ‘Life Is Beautiful’, SBS must take responsibility! ‘Life Is Beautiful’ has glamorized the culture of gays against what is realistically, healthy and proper for the citizens of Korea.”
